Atracction points: Introduction
"Riveira, natural jewel from Rias Baixas"
Riveira, located in the southwestern end of the peninsula of Barbanza and the province of A Corunna, looks out enviably on Ria Muros Noia, on the North, and Ria Arousa, on the South, and the immense Atlantic Ocean on its west face.
Riveira opens from a northern perspective the beautiful coastline drawn by Galician Rias Baixas. All over its 65.1 square km of extension, Riveira offers thousands of natural and man-made appeals : millenarian dunes, megalitic monuments such as the dolmen of Axeitos, beaches that emphasize Riveira coast, ecclesiastical buildings scattered over the 8 parishes of the municipality, Salvora and the rest of surrounding islands, and new city-planning works which try to recover the title gained by Santa Eugenia de Riveira around the middle of the 20th century thanks to its beauty: the town was called the white city from Arousa Ria.
Galicia is a tourist paradise and in Riveira we found a selection of all its excellence: tree-covered mounts, edenic beaches, steeps where sea beating ruges furious, landscapes of highest ecological and aesthetic value, and summits risen by geological fancies so that we enjoy breath-taking views on our region and our rias, too. On the other hand, Riveira cannot be considered a crossing site; it is put in a corner and the ideal to visit it is to remain some days among its people and atmospheres.
In such cases, what more advisable than the rest, lodged at a warm hospitable place? Since to lodging, Riveira supplies different alternatives
