| Bon Pastor Parish´s Church |
Castiñeiras |
One of the newest in the borough. Castiñeiras is an ecclesiastic parish since 1967, the main shrine was the Sagrado Corazón (Holy Heart) School Chapel –a school established by the Sisters of this Ordination in Castiñeiras since 1917- until May 1983, when the prelate Antonio María Rouco Varela inaugurated this church, designed by the architect José A. Franco Taboada. It is oval-based and not finished –the back outer wall is going to be paved-, and the building is related to the work culture through its inner decoration. Among the most valuable pieces there is a grand Christ on the altarpiece, made by Alfredo de Santiago. |

Nosa Señora do Carme Parish´s Church |
Aguiño |
When in 1959 Aguiño splitted from San Paio Carreira parish, this building began to be erected. The hall, work from the architect Antonio Tenreiro Bonachón, was inaugurated in 1967 and it shows a very useful and functional arrangement; it is modern-looking and wider than long. Besides the great acoustic, the church stands out by its capacity of 500 people. |

| San Martiño Church |
Oleiros |
The old San Martiño Oleiros parish church has become currently a chapel from Olveira parish. The first shrine may have been, as in most of cases, Romanesque. Since those times a sculpture has survived: a Mater Dolorosa, sculpted on some granite found in one of the courtyard walls. Another neoclassic church was built in 1769 on the same site. Later, 1859, was enlarged. |

| San Pedro Parish´s Church |
Palmeira |
The current church dates from 1757, as it is read at the top of a column. Carlos A. Obreiro Patiño was the priest at that time. A second phase was undertaken later, and even a third one, carried out in 1907. It gave the current neoclassic façade. There are some remains left from the old parish church, placed at San Pedro - it may have been Romanesque, despite Palmeira has been stated as parish since 1607. |

| Old Church |
Olveira |
One of the oldest churches in Riveira, also Romanesque. The discovery of a crypt with steps between walls, an Agnus Dei and two columns with their proving that the date that was given to the church was correct. The last time it was rebuilt was in the 18th century -exactly 1742-, as the entry arch inscription reads, which means it belongs to neoclasic period. From the hill it is placed on the whole large parish and the Dune Park can be glanced. The courtyard has been used as graveyard and it is covered with tombstones. |

| San Paio Chapel |
Carreira |
The current chapel of San Paio, in Frións-Carreira, is from 1717; but it is sure known there was another one on the same site, maybe Romanesque. It is neoclasic-styled with a cruceiro (a christian stone cross with or without religious figures), and there are varied stories about it. A fire at the beginning of the 20th century burned the first major altarpiece, baroque; a flash of lightning had already destroyed the belltower in 1818. The man who was redoing it died in an unfortunate accident; he fell from the roof just as finishing his work. |

Santa Uxía Parish´s Church |
Riveira |
|
The Riveira borough main church, neoclassic-styled and erected in 1864, was designed by Faustino Domínguez. It replaced the old church, located at Praza Compostela -known that time as Praza da Constitución. It is composed of 3 barrel vault naves and was repaired many times in the latter years. There are some important woodworks inside, such as the Sepulcro one -boxwooden and with inlaid silver work-, and that of San Roque. There are some smaller figures: S. Miguel, S. Andrés and S. Benito.
Some church ornaments - encrusted medallions on backside- hint a likely Romanesque origin. Later, steps and balustrade were added. During Mayor Ventoso Mariño´s times, courtyard and square were decorated with a garden. This work has been recently brightened up yet, by cutting out some vegetation.
